Consultation overview

Our first consultation on the Vyrnwy Frankton connection closed on Wednesday 18 October 2023.

We’d like thank everyone who took part in the consultation and provided feedback.

While the consultation has closed, the project team will continue to engage stakeholders and the community as the project develops.

In our autumn consultation we asked for feedback on:

  • the proposed site for the collector substation and cable sealing end compound in Powys

  • the preferred route we've identified for an overhead line through Powys and Shropshire

Next steps

The feedback summary brochure, detailing key themes and insights taken from the feedback received is now available.

The feedback on specific comments regarding the overhead line and routeing decisions, as well as broader discussions on the need for low-carbon technology, is currently under thorough review.

Building on the feedback received, we will continue refining the routeing of the project. More detailed information on both routeing and pylon placement will be shared at the next consultation later in early 2025.
